After completing his civilian service at Altona Children's Hospital, Johannes Bresser began a dual course of study in aviation systems engineering and management at Bremen University of Applied Sciences. This course was combined with training as a pilot at Lufthansa's commercial flying school. It was here that his interest in the organizational and safety culture in aviation and medicine was awakened. In addition to flying, he has lectured on these topics for many years and led seminars at medical training events.

Stagnation leads to stagnation and so he took advantage of the coronavirus pandemic to complete a part-time Master's degree at the University of Salzburg. The Master's in Training and Development closely interlinked theory and practice in the fields of psychology, organizational culture, leadership and coaching. The final step was the development of a concept for the introduction of a Just Culture in hospitals. The concept was selected as one of four outstanding papers in the session "Next Generation - Managers of the Future" at the renowned Healthcare Management Congress in 2022 and was later published in the specialist journal "Health & Care Management". As an expert in the transformation of organizational culture towards a Just Culture, he is currently working on a specialist book that will be published in spring 2024.

Johannes Bresser is convinced that a Just and Learning Culture is highly relevant, especially for the well-being of employees and effective teamwork, but also for safe patient care and the sustainable success of medical organizations. Due to the shortage of specialists, his motto is: "The new X-ray machine will have to wait, invest in the evolution of your organizational culture. With new leadership approaches and the courage to change, we can take off together.
